When ANI asked Imthias about what effect PM Modi’s visit had, he said, “It’s making a big difference. We’re getting many people asking about it.” He also said that both national and international tourists are showing interest in visiting Lakshadweep.
He said that in the future, the tourism department wants more cruise ship companies to visit Lakshadweep.
He hopes that when it’s easier for people to fly to Lakshadweep from mainland India, more tourists will come.
Two tourists shared their thoughts about visiting Lakshadweep. Aman Singh from Mumbai said that they had wanted to visit for a long time, but there were many stories about the island. However, after seeing Prime Minister Modi’s visit, they realized it was possible to go. Sumit Anand from Delhi also said he had always wanted to visit Lakshadweep, but seeing PM Modi’s pictures and videos inspired him to make it his next travel destination.
On January 4th, the Foreign Affairs Minister, S Jaishankar, mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s trip to Lakshadweep has made people around the world notice the group of islands and see how great it could be for tourism there.
